Beneath a deep blue sea

Underwater photographer

As a commercial photographer, my work spans corporate portraiture, engineering and architecture.

Growing up on the northern beaches of Sydney, I developed an early and lasting affiliation with the ocean through surfing and sailing — a connection that has since taken me beneath the surface. When not shooting on land I can often be found underwater, whether capturing aquatic events or creating images of the beautiful and remote coral reefs and marine life of the Indo-Pacific region. Shooting underwater has made me a better photographer — the challenge of combining technical skills as both diver and photographer provides a demanding yet rewarding environment to hone my craft.

An accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers and Nikon Professional Services, I have been a guest presenter at the Australian Centre for Photography, and my images have appeared in Perreault Magazine, Submerged Nation, Australasian Scuba Diver, Alert Diver and My Nikon Life Magazines.

The following images are from an area known as the 'Coral Triangle' and recognised as the world's epicentre of marine biodiversity. It's also my favourite destination to experience pristine waters and extensive marine life. My favourite destinations include:

  • Wakatobi - Sulawesi

  • Southern Visayas - The Philippines

  • Kimbe Bay - New Britain"
